Ozsploitation should be a phrase you're very familiar with if you want to hangout with the Companeros. We take exploitation very seriously and so does Australian auteur Brian Trenchard Smith. This 1982 take on The Most Dangerous Game concept is required viewing around the Companeros Compound along with most of BTS's catalog(Leprechaun in Space is still optional, though).
The film concerns the basic Reagan/Thatcher 80's paranoia that by the year 2000, deviants(aka, us)would all be rounded up and placed in re-education camps where we would be tortured and molested until we become good little citizens of... what? Order? Decency? The state? Who knows. We never really got that far with our delusional fears. Turkey Shoot, unlike THX-1138 or any of the Women in Prison films, adds the fun little addition of the rich and powerful hunting us down for sport. Throw in a bad guy werewolf for no reason, and some dope ass cars and you've got a mega 1890's exploitation classic.
But that's only the beginning of the wonderful delights we have in store for you on this episode. Naturally we have the latest and not so greatest Catch and Releases now out on Blu-Ray and DVD, we check out Rosanna Arquette's desperate PG Boobs, once again, Jake tries to convince Matt to like anime, we have James Best's Best List of Movies Ever, and Drew Buzzy sets the Guinness Book of World Records for saying "starfish pussy" more times than any other podcast ever. Get into it here.
